Where those who inspire find their own inspiration

Wellington College China's Sixth Festival of Education was yet another success! Nearly 40 thought leaders and 800 attendees came together at Wellington College International Shanghai for a day of informative and inspiring talks, panel discussions, and workshops covering the latest developments in education. We explored this year’s theme of ‘Collaboration in Education’ through five fascinating strands that sparked compelling conversations throughout the day.

The Early Years Education strand figured prominently with talks about everything from positive parent-school relationships to the power of visual mathematics. Mental health and wellbeing were also essential pillars of the event. We learned helpful strategies for overcoming school anxiety and we were introduced to Wellington Shanghai’s very own Sunshine Club, an innovative positive behaviour intervention programme. Bilingual education was another salient topic, with speakers sharing methods for building oracy across multiple languages, the three pillars of effective bilingual education and so much more. And when we were not exploring new horizons in education, we enjoyed spectacular dance and music performances by talented young Wellingtonians.

Thanks to all who attended and to everyone who helped to make this event such a tremendous success. We cannot wait to outdo ourselves with our seventh Festival next year!
