Ms Alvarez is a Reggio Emilia-inspired consultant with 35 years of early childhood teaching experience in international schools in countries such as Colombia, Egypt and China. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from Buffalo State University, New York. She currently works at Shanghai American School as a preschool teacher and as the Reggio Emilia coordinator.
Ms Alvarez has a strong partnership with the Reggio Children organization. For the last four years, she has supported participants from China interested in joining the Fall International Study Group. Her mission as a consultant is to disseminate the Reggio Emilia philosophy among the international community and to help schools reinterpret the key principles of this approach within the context of their own culture.
