Ms Xu has worked in education since 1982. She is a special grade language teacher in Shanghai, a special grade headmaster, a senior teacher, a meritorious educator in Shanghai, a nationally recognised research-orientated headmaster and outstanding educator in characteristic schools in China. In addition to serving as the principal of Shanghai Experimental School, she is the vice president of the Association of Innovative Talent Education.
Ms Xu has published many books and studies throughout her career. Her ‘Study of the Theory and Practice of Schools Dedicated to Teachers’ Professional Development’, ‘Exploring Potential Development and Deepening the Overall Reform of Teaching’ and ‘Experimental Research on Language Module Teaching’ have won her many industry awards. Among them are the first prize in National Teaching Achievement, first prize in Shanghai Educational Research Achievement, second prize in National Basic Education Reform Research Achievement and first prize in National Educational Experiment Achievement.
