Tiffany Chen completed her master’s degree in communicative sciences and disorders from New York University. She also received her bilingual speech-language pathology certificate from Columbia University. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist in New York and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
She previously worked in a special education preschool, focusing on children 3-5 years old with a variety of language disorders and delays, ASD, and other disabilities. She also has much experience treating adults with aphasia, voice disorders, or voice modification. She has treated children and adults in short-term rehabilitation settings, as well.
At ELG, Tiffany conducts speech-language therapy with children with various degrees of speech-language delays/disorders in both English and Mandarin. She also provides parent education in order to increase awareness and generalization of each individual’s skills. She is passionate about carrying over her activities in the therapy room to the home, providing detailed resources and instruction about how to make the most progress possible.
Being an interactive, engaging therapist is important to Tiffany. She loves the creativity it allows and uses everything from shaving cream and food coloring, to a toy box of medicine, to maps in order to encourage speech-language development. She enjoys always learning something new, whether it is a new research approach or information from the children and adults she meets in therapy. Through her practice, she has learned how to pick a good sailboat, about astrology, American history facts, and even the mechanics of a car! Helping people and getting to know them keeps her energized and excited to work every day.
